Downey….Catherine (Katy) McQuivey passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 1, 2011 in Downey, Id at the age of 74.
She was born on September 11, 1936 in Murray, Ut to Catherine and August Vorwaller. She married the “Love of her Life” Karl D. McQuivey on September 18, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple, this September they would have been happily married for 58 years. She served many church callings faithfully. She loved every minute of the 4 years that she served with her husband in the Logan Temple. Katy was known for loving everyone, and everyone that she met loved her kindness, her willingness to serve, and her unconditional love. She had a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
The loving husband and children she left behind are: Karl McQuivey, Downey, Id; Kenneth (Kristine), Roy, Ut; Kirk (Lana), Orangeville, Ut; Kevin (Karen), Magna, Ut; Kyle (Ramona), Downey, Id; Karla (Tad) Bybee, Downey, Id; Kristi (Brock) Gunter, Pocatello, Id; 21 Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother in law, her sister, and granddaughter Whitney.
Special thanks for the loving care that Karen Jones and Kim Day of Hospice gave to our wife and mother in her final days, Mom you will truly be missed. Your memory is our keepsake with which we’ll never part. God has you in his keeping, we have you in our hearts!
Funeral services will be held on Monday June 6, 2011 at 12 noon in the Downey LDS 1st Ward Chapel. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at the church and on Monday from 10:30-11:30 am at the church prior to the service.
