Marjorie Howard Manning

GARLAND – Marjorie Howard Manning, 72, departed this life November 22, 2001, following a short illness.
She was born April 1, 1929, in Malad, Idaho. As a teenage girl she lived with her family on the Peter Whitmer and Joseph Smith farms and graduated from Palmyra High School. She attended the USAC in Logan, UT where she met Dave. They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on October 15, 1948. She is remembered for her musical talents, especially singing and directing ward and stake choirs. She was a devoted companion with “Elder” Manning in the Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, and Texas Fort-worth missions.
She is survived by her husband David K. Manning; Four sons; Bishop Ray (Deon), Keith (Els), Lee (Ellen), and Marcel (Shellie) Manning, and two daughters; Shelley (Duane) Carter, and Nancy (R.J.) Rucker; 32 Grandchildren, and 5 Great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Rachel E. Howard, Three brothers; Ellis, Clarence, and David Howard, and two sisters; Marie Sanders, and Nora Larson.
She is preceded in death by her father, Owen T. Howard; a brother, Stephen Howard; a grandson, Jason W. Manning; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Manning.
Services will be held Tuesday, Nov 27, 2001, 11:00 a.m. at the Garland Tabernacle with bishop G. Ray Manning conducting. Friends and family may call at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home; 111 North 100 East Tremonton, Monday, Nov 26tr from 6-8 p.m. and at the Garland Tabernacle from 9:30-10:45 on Tuesday.
Interment will be at the Garland Cemetery.
