Annie W. Jones Evans, 76, daughter of James E. and Annie W. Jones, early pioneer settlers of Malad valley, died April 2, 1946 at the Evans home in Malad. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Evans, in September of 1944. Mr. and Mrs. Evans were life-long residents of Malad.

Mrs. Evans was born January 28, 1870 at Malad. She was married to Isaac Evans October 30, 1892 at Malad.

Mrs. Evans was a member of the Civic Betterment Club, the Ladies Aid, the Wool Grower’s Auxiliary, and a charger member of the Native Daughters of Idaho Pioneers, Station 1, and was president of the club at the time of her death. She was also a member of the Alpha Xi Mother’s club of Salt Lake City. Last year Mrs. Evans acted as house mother at the YWCA at Pocatello.

She is survived by the following daughters and sons: Mrs. Mary Ellen Van Cott of Salt lake City; Miss Daisy M. Evans of Pocatello; Mrs. Gwenfread Jenson of Montpelier, ID; Mrs. Howard Peck, Jr. of San Francisco and James W.J. Evans of Malad. There are four grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Margaret Peterson of Malad; Mrs. Daisy Mandry of Garland; Mrs. Gwenfread Crowther of Malad, and James T. Jones of Malad.
