Ralph Christensen

Lava Hot Springs – Ralph Christensen, 93, long time Marsh Valley Resident died Friday, November 20, 1992, in Pocatello. He was born May 20, 1899, in Cambridge (Downey), Idaho a son of Soren Albert and Phoebe Mettie Bowman Christensen. He grew up and was educated in Cambridge.
As a young man he had worked on the family farm and on the Parley Bowman Farm. He married Margaret Ellen Bybee, June 20 1919, in Pocatello. After their marriage they farmed at “Hog Holler” just east of Virginia. Mrs. Christensen died June 26, 1979. He later married Phyliss Williams Higgins, October 4, 1979.
He is survived by his wife of Pocatello; six sons, two daughters and their spouses, Ralph and Mickie Christensen, Hayburn, Idaho; William and Marge Christensen, and Bruce and Yvonna Christensen, both of Ketchikan, Alaska; LaMonte and Marsha Christensen, Silver City New Mexico; Paul and Lauren Christensen, Pocatello; Terry and Norita Christensen, South Ogden, Utah; Coleen and Ray Henderson, Swan Lake, Idaho, LaRue and Michael Bertram, Eatonville, Washington; four brothers, Milo of Downey, Ruel and Boyd both of Arimo, and Albert of Logan, Utah; three sisters, Mrs. Jack (Gladys) Evans, of Malad; Mrs. Hazen (Gertrude) Hatch of Burley; and Mrs. Warren (LuDean) Eriksen of Pocatello, 31 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren one great-great grandchild, 4 step grandchildren and his second wife’s four step children.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at noon in the Virginia LDS Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Downey City Cemetery.
