Evelyn Allman Brown Champneys

Evelyn Allman Brown Champneys, 81, died Sunday, January 21, 1996 in Malad, Idaho.

She was born November 16, 1914, in Botineau, North Dakota, a daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Anna Agusta Hintze Brown. She married Carlyle E. Champneys on July 3, 1936 in Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She had resided in Ogden, Neola, Tremonton, Burley and Malad. She graduated from Weber High School.

She had been self-employed as a private caterer.

She was a member of the St. John LDS Ward. She held numerous positions in the Mt. Ogden Stake and 23rd Ward Primary, among other church activities. She also served as a genealogist.

She was a member of a quilting club.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter; Stephen C. Champneys, Judsonia, Arkansas; David R. Champneys, Puyallup, Washington; Mrs. Robert (Sheryl J.) Clements, West Point, Utah, 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters: Bernice B. Brown, North Ogden; Beulah Farr, Centerville.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dienna Champneys.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January, 24, at the Larkin and Sons Mortuary in Ogden. Interment was in the Ogden City Cemetery
