Maude Irene Williams Call

Maude Irene Call, age 92, died in Malad City, Idaho on January 27, 1992. She was born on December 18, 1899 to Anna Eliza Daniels and John Smart Williams. She married Bertis Dee Call in the Salt Lake Temple on December 21, 1921.
She is survived by two sons; Max Lee Call of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Dr. R. Reed Call of Provo, Utah; three daughters, Anna Lou Peterson, Las Vegas Nevada, Carolyn Irene Williams of Minot, North Dakota, and Lois Jean Laws of Laramie, Wyoming. Her husband and two sons, Dr Dee W. Call and Dr. B Darrell Call predeceased her in death. Also surviving are her sister Jean Josephson of Plymouth, Utah and brother, John D. Williams of Ogden.
Her only brother, Leo D. Williams died in 1991. She has 39 grandchildren and 63 great-grandchildren.
Sister Call received her education in Malad and at Albion State Normal College of teachers. She taught school in Malad Valley prior to her marriage.
Always active in her church and community, she served in various church callings including Stake Relief Society President and President of the Malad P.T. A. and Literary Club. She was well known as a youth speaker and enjoyed giving book reviews. She worked as the secretary for the Idaho Farm Bureau office in Malad before serving a full time mission in the Florida/Alabama Mission at age 72.
She was a devoted wife and mother and church member, respected by all who knew her, and loved and revered by her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the Malad First Ward Chapel on Friday January 31, 1992 at 1:oo p.m. with Bishop Jared Crowther presiding and conducting. Friends may visit the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 12 W. 300 N., Malad, on Thursday evening from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. or on Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
